So, what's new?

Ambient music, babies.

Oh, yes, the Lisa has discovered that lovely musical style that can be total chillout or jazzy, groovin' electronica with a mix of the weird.

We're loving Lemon Jelly. Yes, we are.

And, tonight, I discovered Ambient Nights. Alex Hephaestion mixes these lovely grooves, and they are free. Yes, FREE, for the download. Just gets ya a torrent client and have fun. So far, I'm loving the Ambient Nights series. Nice and relaxing that. The Ethni-city series isn't bad either. Either way, if you need something to relax to, go drop by and check it out.

My friend Lara calls it Active Calm.

Gotta love it.

Anyway, with all the stress from work and the interview for The Job, I've needed the relaxation. I may have lived under a rock and not known ambient music, but I know it now.

Lemon Jelly, ya'll. Seriously.

Thievery Corporation, too.

And, yes, there was an interview. For The Job. The Job is a technical writing position. I've been trying to break into the field since I graduated college 8 years ago. (You can see more rants about it at Crochet Cultist.) It's the dream, you know. It's an entry level position that is also a raise for moi. I had devoted two weeks in preparation for the interview. They wanted research papers to prove you can research. I reworked a 27 page monster from college and wrote two others. They wanted a writing test. I did that. They wanted all this information and self analysis. I did that. I cut myself off from everything for this interview. No SCA events. No going out with friends. NO PAPER MACHE.

You heard me. I had to cut myself off from my art.

I nearly lost my mind, but I had to. I tend to lose track of time when I'm creating. I wouldn't have gotten anything done otherwise. The interview was Monday, and now that it's over, I've been too burned out by the stress to create. I've taken a Sanity Day tomorrow and will stay home and relax and have some me time and try to get back into the groove.

I'm still a nervous wreck about the interview, but I'm trying to not think about it.

They'll put me out of my misery some time next week.

Fingers crossed, ya'll. Fingers crossed.
